Hanging Rock, Heathcote Shiraz 2010

Made from fruit exclusively from “Athol’s Paddock” which the Hanging Rock's Ellis family share with Athol Guy (of the Seeker's fame) in Heathcote. Dry grown on the old Cambrian soils and with low yields in hot years such as this vintage. The wine spends 24 months in new American and French oak.

Sweet nose with white pepper, flyspray, Mint Slice, blue/black fruit and milky meaty solid protein.

Powerful palate. Gravelly tannin with purpose. Prune/plum fruit is a little thin for the moment as it plays second fiddle behind the extract of structural muscularity.
