Yalumba , The Y Series Tempranillo 2014

Label change for the Y Series Tempranillo. This should be a cash cow for the Yalumba team. They've done well championing the variety at the right price point, evoking the joven style to get it thrown down with friends (or alone*) and barbeques (or any other time when there's grilled things being consumed). Wild ferment for added funk.

Fresh blueberry fruit and a little bit of sweet post-mix cola syrup. Some cigar/grilling lamb back strap meaty smoke. Pretty and dark. Slightly fruit sweet with jubey blackcurrants, blueberries with dark slatey rock aftertaste. The prettiness doesn't dissipate after the fruit goes: textural elements kick in and demand a grilled something.
