Huntington Estate [Mudgee NSW], Special Reserve Shiraz 2013

Deep mulberry colour leads to a well-integrated fulsome palate.
Fine persistent tannins, rounded fruit profile and glycerol warmth [14.7% Alc] give balance and power to this grunty, typically Mudgee shiraz.
Not one for whimpish palates, it has benefited from almost 5 years of maturation but will still reward cellaring.
Ours was well matched with pan fried pork chops & mushroom ragout
