Castle Rock Estate [Porongurup WA], Pinot Noir 2017

My first experience of this Trophy winning Castle Rock Estate Pinot Noir definitely elicited the "wow" factor.
Fragrant and vibrant, it unleashed top notes of mushroom straw, cedary oak and wafts of mixed herbs.
These attributes are well supported by clear acid, fine tannins and opulent fruit in the strawberry / dark cherry range..
The aromas and flavours continued to evolve in the glass over the meal of grilled lamb cutlets.
It is a well-crafted, flavoursome Pinot Noir, reflective of tne region.
It currently delivers  mouth-filling generosity of fruit, but will continue to develop and please with some cellaring.
