Chapel Point [Central Otago, NZ], Pinot Noir 2016

This Central Otago Pinot Noir pours deep crimson with an attractive "onion skin" leading edge.
With 3 years of development, it is ripe, rounded and smooth.
It shows a full-body delivery of varietal fruit evocative of maraschino cherries, red berries, dark chocolate and wafts of coffee / tobacco
The French oak tannins are held in check by the astrigent acidity, the 13.5% Alc and fruit ripeness.
This is a fulsome, generously priced Pinot Noir from that famed region, which will appeal to Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon drinkers
My bottle was made available for review by Matt Farrah of the newly established Farrah's Liquor Collective [ Townsville St, Fyshwick ACT] which is quickly establishing itself as a major player in the region but also online. Check it out on FB
