Huntington Estate [Mudgee NSW], Vintage Fortified Shiraz 2013

This fortified Vintage Shiraz [once known as Port] is the winner of Best Fortified Trophy at the Mudgee Wine Show
Whilst still in its infancy for the style, it shows all the attributes of quality, pedigree and longevity
The complex, multi-layered palate morphs through a range of aromas and flavours including raisins, plums, blackberries and dark chocolate
The intense sweetness and obvious oak tannins will soften and integrate with further ageing due to the fruit intensity and the 20.5% Alc. One well-worth cellaring by appreciators of that style
My bottle was enjoyed with a platter of hard cheeses and dried fruit.
It is a timely fireside winter-warmer
