Pig in the House [Canowindra, NSW], Organic Rose 2019

This 2019 Organic rose from the team of vigneron Jason O'Dea and winemaker Anthony D'Onise reflects their minimalist protocol of allowing the varietal attributes of the grapes to express themselves.
The attractive salmon-pink colour leads to a restrained nose of raspberries and cherries.
However, the initial shyness of the aromas soon opens up on breathing.
The upfront perception of tingly sweetness is amply supported by a well-massaged framework of clean, tingly acid, some minerality and oak-derived astringency.
The small component of Shiraz contributes some mid-palate grip and textural interest.
This all leads to a refreshing, palate-pleasing rose of some complexity which should be enjoyed whilst fresh and lively.
A timely release for the incoming heat of summer
