Robert Stein [Mudgee NSW], Dry Riesling 2019

From first sip, it is glaringly obvious why this latest offering by Jacob Stein and team has already garnered 7 Gold Medals & 2 Trophies with, undoubtedly more to come.
Jacob Stein has picked up the family cudgell after his winemaking experience in European traditions. He inherits historical pedigree from ancester Johann Stein, a "wine dresser" employed by Governor Macarthur to bring Riesling vines to Australia. This was followed by Robert Stein, Jacob's grandfather who re-established the variety in the Mudgee region in 1976.
But what about this 2019 Dry Riesling wine??
It is arguably one of  the more appealing, enjoyable Rieslings that I have recently enjoyed.
It offers immediate pleasure and palate satisfaction with definite promises of longevity
All the typical varietal characters abound..the crisply clean acid spine supports and lifts the wafts of citrus, lime blossom and rose petals.
The palate journey is long and lingering with a teasing hint of sweetness
It was eminently quaffable over a plate of pickled beetroot salad, as beetroot and citrus apparently seem to be mutually supportive
This 2019 Robert Stein Dry Riesling is a tightly woven work of class..well-assembled and judiciously crafted, it delivers at all levels of satisfaction and pleasure
