Bloodwood Wines [Orange NSW], Riesling 2018

Stephen Doyle, owner & winemaker of Bloodwood Wines has released the current 2018 Riesling, as well as a superb 2008 / 2010 big sister version.
This is to showcase how smoothly and reliably his Rieslings age and integrate into works of pleasure, quality and substance
Doyle's organic-based philosophy of minimal intervention, delicate handling, hand-pruning and hand-picking of the prime grapes grown in low yielding high elevation sites, is vibrantly reflected in these releases
The initial nose of the Bloodwood 2018 Riesling is of savoury biscuit / brioche and jasmine. This reflects the extended lees contact
The front palate delivers aromas and sweet'n'sour flavours of quince, citrus, thyme and mouth-tingling refreshing acid
This relatively youthful Bloodwood Riesling is a multi-layered and multi-faceted example of a cool climate wine of complexity and promise
It will benefit from a few years of bottle sleep
