Carillion Wines [Hunter Valley NSW], Lovable Rogue Fiano 2021

This Fiano, sourced from the Carillion Wines Tallavera vineyard in the Hunter Valley of NSW, is one of two Italian varietals released by Winemaker Andrew Ling, under the quirky Lovable Rogue label.
Freshly cut pear, pineapple, wafts of strawfrom the extended lees contact and licks of citrus come to the forth on both the nose and front palate
The Abboccato descriptor defines the off-dry residual sugar component. Maturation in porcelain egg imparts freshness
This bright Fiano offers a delicate balance between palate-smoothness and snappy acid lift, making it eminently quaffable as an aperitif
It would also be a good match to Asian-style dished
We enjoyed ours with a charcuterie plate.
